How Tax in Nepal Works (FY 2081/82)
Single Filing Slab
For individuals, the first NPR 500,000 is taxed at 1% (Social Security Tax). This increases progressively up to 39% for income exceeding 5 million.
Married Filing Slab
Couples can choose joint filing which increases the first slab threshold to NPR 600,000. This is highly beneficial for households with a single primary earner.
